Working Memory and Language Processing: Extending an Interactive Model to Capture Sentence-Level Data (pp.175-188) $100.00
Authors:  (Valantis Fyndanis, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and others)
Abstract:
In the present chapter I propose an extension of the interactive model of short-term memory proposed by R. Martin and Lesch (1996), and R. Martin, Lesch, and Bartha (1999) – which was developed to capture word-level processing – so that it can capture, in addition, sentence-level information. I will illustrate the extended model’s explanatory power with data from a Greek-speaking agrammatic patient on four previously reported tasks: sentence repetition task, sentence grammaticality judgment task, sentence-picture matching task, sentence completion task.
