The Application of Ionic Liquids in Polycondensation pp. 549-561
Abstract: Polycondensation is one of the main polymerizations for preparing polymers, especially the engineering plastics including Poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET), Polyamide(PA), Polyimide(PI), Polycarbonate(PC) which are widely used in our daily life. The polymerization procedure usually needs high temperature, high billing point organic solvent, high vacuum and small molecular motivation to promote equilibrium
move. So it seems reasonable to introduce ionic liquids into polycondensation due to their low volatility, high thermal stability, possibility of recycling, environmentally friendly, and so on. The application of ionic liquids as solvents, catalysts, and monomers in
polycondensation is the subject of this chapter.
