Sport Psychology Consulting with Athletes with a Disability: Out of the Ordinary and Into the Extraordinary $43.00
Authors:  Krista J. Munroe-Chandler
Abstract:
With an ever increasing number of Canadian athletes competing at the Paralympic Games, it is not surprising that athletes with a disability now have a full range of sport science professionals at their disposal, including sport psychology consultants. Yet, despite the numerous similarities in techniques used when consulting able-bodied athletes and athletes with a disability, it is important for sport psychology practitioners to be familiar with the unique challenges when providing services to athletes with a disability. The focus of this paper will centre on the unique aspects of consulting with Paralympic athletes and teams.
